Satan Hates the Family. Here’s Why.

June 26, 2015

The United States just legalized gay “marriage.” Fear is in the air. I will simply share these thoughts:

The final war between Satan and the Lord God is over the family. Why? Because the family is an icon of the Most Holy Trinity. The communion of love between the three Divine Persons is the original family. This Divine communion is fruitful, that is, it brings forth life. It cannot help but do so. Life bursts forth from the love of the Holy Trinity.

The family is the earthly image and icon of Trinitarian love. The communion of love between husband and wife is designed to be fruitful, to bring forth life. In a very real sense, married love creates. This is why marriage carries the dignity of a sacrament—because it is a holy image of the Trinity.

Only God can truly create. Satan cannot. And Satan hates this fact. He is sterile in every sense of the word. He hates the Trinity because he envies its life giving and creative power, and he hates the family because it mirrors the Trinity.

And what better way to mock and warp the life-giving love of the Holy Trinity than to attempt to redefine marriage as something that cannot bring forth life? To redefine it as something inverted and sterile, like Satan himself? This is what homosexual “marriage” really is: Satan’s mockery of the family, and thus of the Trinity.

The good news is, Our Lord, through the Immaculate Virgin, will crush Satan’s head. Just when his victory seems sure, he will meet with a sudden defeat. Count on it.

Finally, stay strong. Be at peace. Be courageous. Never, ever lose heart.

“Our commandress, the Immaculate, refuge of sinners, is also the vanquisher of the hellish serpent.” – St. Maximilian Kolbe

“Above all, never let yourselves be troubled, never be frightened, never fear anything. The Immaculate, in fact, is she perhaps not aware of everything? If this were not the case, it would really be a problem.” – St. Maximilian Kolbe

Thank you so much for this. I have been extremely saddened by this morning’s announcement – more so because I have close family members who embrace gay marriage. I want to be discouraged and frightened or just pretend that nothing is changed and turn the other way. But I know now that God is calling me…us to strive ever more and more to live a life of holiness, of sacrifice, of courage, of love, and to raise children that will become saints, warriors, and even martyrs for Christ. Thank you for the quotes by St. Maximilian Kolbe about Our Lady. Jesus has won the victory through his glorious Resurrection.

The family as an image of the Holy Trinity was brought to my attention twice this week. At the bottom of Melanie Jean Juneau’s post, she describes a beautiful image of the family as a “triangle of light” https://melaniejeanjuneau.wordpress.com/2015/06/20/fathers-day-through-the-eyes-of-art-st-joseph-and-the-church/comment-page-1/#comment-10883
I add this because that image has brought me great encouragement and hope.

Your blog is great inspiration to many. God bless you.

You have no idea what being a homosexual means in a world that is filled with rejectment and hatred and bad stigmas! One of God’s commandment is not to lie. Why should a gay man lives a lie all his life simply to make you catholic wannabe perfect happy!?.. He was born in the first place attracted to men!! And the God that I believe in will never curse love. Love is love.

          • [email protected] says

If he is gay, and use hate to ‘ hide ‘ or otherwise , being gay is not the problem, the problem is what is preventing you to take and accept. I believe the problem is the religious and conservative creation of conservativies customs.

        • [email protected] says

First, God does not make mistakes. And your opinion or the Bible are not and Will not contain evidence que people are not born gay. Second: Do not allow religion let your sick mind. The Religious blindness is treatable. Just stop thinking like a sheep.

      • ladybug says

No one is born gay. The giver of life (GOD) punishes homosexuality as known in the bible (SODOM AND GOMORRAH). Sodomy screams vengeance from heaven. Love is love, but sin is also sin. We should not condone it, we should not condone gay marriage. This is not God’s way. How can we call it love if the God of love Himself finds it abominable

      • John Sposato says

Sexual activity and attraction is NOT the same as love, and conflating the two is what is wrong with your reasoning. Sexual intercourse might be a reflection of love, an act of love — indeed, it was designed to be — but this, unfortunately, is not necessarily so. Love is an act of the will in which one seeks the good of another apart from any benefit to oneself. Two men may love each other in this latter sense, and that is a sacred good. Having sex with one another is another thing entirely. The complementarity of the male/female dyad was designed for sex; other combinations were not. You are correct: God will never curse love. Love IS love. But you are confusing love with sex and attraction, and the two are often not related.

  2. Mark Valencia says

    Psalms 118 V24
    “This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice in it and be glad.”

This may seem like a strange scripture to quote, especially on a day like today but really it is one we should recite Everyday with the Love of Jesus Christ. Let us not give into fear or worry.
I encourage All Catholic Christians to Open Up their Bibles. Start reading them.

Let us Pray for All so that the Truth Of The Lord be proclaimed and that it liberate us All from the bondages of disobedience, of sin. AMEN.

If we begin to feel the pull of fear or even despair we can read the Gospel below and see & be reminded that Jesus Christ is aware of everything even when it seems that he is nowhere to be found. He reminds us to Have FAITH and wait on Him.
We Must respond with The Love Of God in defense our Faith. No. Matter. What.

    Gospel MK 4:35-41

On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples:
“Let us cross to the other side.”
Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was.
And other boats were with him.
A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat,
so that it was already filling up.
Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion.
They woke him and said to him,
“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
    He woke up,
rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?”
They were filled with great awe and said to one another,
“Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?”

We must be reminded that the enemy; satan, wants us to respond in fear, despair, loathing especially to those who may be persecuting us.
We Must choose the opposite and we can If we remain in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Read Paul’s letter to the Philippians below.

    PHILIPPIANS
    Chapter 4:v4-10

    Joy and Peace.

    4
Rejoice* in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!c
    5
Your kindness* should be known to all. The Lord is near.d
    6
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.e
    7
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.f
    8
g Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.*
    9
Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me.h Then the God of peace will be with you.*
    10

It is not a sin to be angry but it is a sin to act in such a way that does not glorify the Father. It can & must be a righteous anger that can be channeled for good. We Must Remember That. What better good is there then to Pray for those who afflict themselves and Us? Then our anger can be properly transformed into compassion for those that know not what they do. This will move our hearts to pray more fervently for them and for us as well. For we are all sinners.
Lastly, We must also take a stand for what Our Lord stood for even if we are persecuted. Stand Up and reinvigorate your Catholic Christian Marriages with the Prayer, Fasting, The Rosary. Renew the vows you took on that Beautiful Day you entered into a Holy Covenant with Our God through the Sacrament of Marriage. If you have been Blessed with Children teach them about their Father In Heaven who Loves them so Much, that he gave us His only begotten Son; Jesus Christ.

Our King. Our Savior. Our Messiah.

    AMEN.
    Be Bold, Be Catholic

  3. Pat_h says

“Christians are indistinguishable from other men either by nationality, language or customs. They do not inhabit separate cities of their own, or speak a strange dialect, or follow some outlandish way of life. Their teaching is not based upon reveries inspired by the curiosity of men. Unlike some other people, they champion no purely human doctrine. With regard to dress, food and manner of life in general, they follow the customs of whatever city they happen to be living in, whether it is Greek or foreign.

And yet there is something extraordinary about their lives. They live in their own countries as though they were only passing through. They play their full role as citizens, but labor under all the disabilities of aliens. Any country can be their homeland, but for them their homeland, wherever it may be, is a foreign country. Like others, they marry and have children, but they do not expose them. They share their meals, but not their wives.

They live in the flesh, but they are not governed by the desires of the flesh. They pass their days upon earth, but they are citizens of heaven. Obedient to the laws, they yet live on a level that transcends the law. Christians love all men, but all men persecute them. Condemned because they are not understood, they are put to death, but raised to life again. They live in poverty, but enrich many; they are totally destitute, but possess an abundance of everything. They suffer dishonor, but that is their glory. They are defamed, but vindicated. A blessing is their answer to abuse, deference their response to insult. For the good they do they receive the punishment of malefactors, but even then they, rejoice, as though receiving the gift of life. They are attacked by the Jews as aliens, they are persecuted by the Greeks, yet no one can explain the reason for this hatred.

To speak in general terms, we may say that the Christian is to the world what the soul is to the body. As the soul is present in every part of the body, while remaining distinct from it, so Christians are found in all the cities of the world, but cannot be identified with the world. As the visible body contains the invisible soul, so Christians are seen living in the world, but their religious life remains unseen. The body hates the soul and wars against it, not because of any injury the soul has done it, but because of the restriction the soul places on its pleasures. Similarly, the world hates the Christians, not because they have done it any wrong, but because they are opposed to its enjoyments.

Christians love those who hate them just as the soul loves the body and all its members despite the body’s hatred. It is by the soul, enclosed within the body, that the body is held together, and similarly, it is by the Christians, detained in the world as in a prison, that the world is held together. The soul, though immortal, has a mortal dwelling place; and Christians also live for a time amidst perishable things, while awaiting the freedom from change and decay that will be theirs in heaven. As the soul benefits from the deprivation of food and drink, so Christians flourish under persecution. Such is the Christian’s lofty and divinely appointed function, from which he is not permitted to excuse himself.”

From a letter to Diognetus (Nn. 5-6; Funk, 397-401)

  4. Scott G Slanda says

I pray the persecution comes soon. It’s time to shed our blood in witness against the world, the flesh, and the devil. He has made this country his play-thing, and only the civil government’s slaughter of Christians (now closer than ever) will purify our nation.

  5. Love Wins says

“No issue brings out so much hatred from so many Catholics as homosexuality. Even after over 25 years as a Jesuit, the level of hatred around homosexuality is nearly unbelievable to me, especially when I think of all of the wonderful LGBT friends I have.
The Catholic church must do a much better job of teaching what the Catechism says: that we should treat our LGBT brothers and sisters with “respect, sensitivity and compassion.”
But God wants more. God wants us to love. And not a twisted, crabbed, narrow tolerance, which often comes in the guise of condemnations, instructions and admonitions that try to masquerade as love, but actual love.
Love means: getting to know LGBT men and women, spending time with them, listening to them, being challenged by them, hoping the best for them, and wanting them to be a part of your lives, every bit as much as straight friends are part of your lives.
Love first. Everything else later. In fact, everything else is meaningless without love.”
    Fr. James Martin, SJ

Which is how the Catholic Church got a Clergy Sexual Scandal by tolerance to homosexual priests.

The study said that 4,392 clergymen—almost all priests—were accused of abusing 10,667 people, with 75 percent of the incidents taking place between 1960 and 1984.

      — An overwhelming majority of the victims, 81 percent, were males. The most vulnerable were boys aged 11 to 14, representing more than 40 percent of the victims.
      — A majority of the victims were post-pubescent adolescents with a small percentage of the priests accused of abusing children who had not reached puberty.

The John Jay study said that pedophilia, an attraction to pre-pubescent children diagnosed as a psychiatric disease, was a smaller part of the sex abuse problem. It said that 22 percent of the victims were under 10. It added that 51 percent were 11 to 14 years old and 27 percent were 15 to 17 years old.

Father James Martin should apologized to the victims!

Love the sinner, hate the sin. The Catholic church supports one of the largest organizations in helping people with same sex attraction (courage). While some lay people may express their frustration as hate, I would caution you not to paint all 1.2 billion Catholics with the same brush. I don’t think pope Francis would show anything but love. But we must take caution, as love does not equate tolerance of act. The sin is still wrong. I am curious if the church would bless a union of same sex where the couple is committed to living a celibate life as brothers or sisters in full communion with the church. I am aware of Catholics who have committed to such a lifestyle. It is not a sacramental marriage, but the couple should be entitled to the financial benefits (taxes etc) just as a married couple is (that’s more government than church – hence their need to define marriage in consistency with the sacrement). Just a side thought… anyway, here are some other really good articles. The first looks at causes to SSA (very much proven to not be genetic despite many arguments from the GL community that people are “born” that way). I particularly like the second 77 non religious reasons to support OSM as well as the similar article below that:

      >>Even after over 25 years as a Jesuit,

So you hunt for statements by Catholic priests to paint the LGBT “community” as a victim of severe societal maligning. And by a Jesuit, the most liberal religious order. Fr. James Martin, SJ, is extraordinary media friendly, showing up on The Colbert Report.

“Love Wins” – your handle. That’s cute. I guess the LGBT Gestapo made their rounds seeking Christian opinion pieces on the ruling.

    • DN says

Its funny how often I’ve seen this quote. It seems that Fr. Martin forgets that the Catechism also teaches that homosexual behavior is a grave sin. All things are meaningless without love. Yes. But love is meaningless without truth. How are we loving when we neglect to remind our brothers and sisters (and myself as a member of the “LGBT Community”) when they are walking a path of destruction? The answer is that we are not.

Love wins. But it didn’t win because of a SCOTUS ruling. It won because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave. Love wins because God provides us the grace to rise above sin and be what we were created to be.

      • Brigid says

What a beautiful, thoughtful reply. Thanks for posting this response! I love how you clarify what “Love wins.” really means. And “love is meaningless without truth.” Boom. I’m sorry about the angry responses to this blog, but your succinct reaction is just spot on. And it applies to all of us, in regards to all our sin…this isn’t just about homosexuality. We live in a world where Satan has successfully turned the understanding and truth about Love on it’s head for so many. He has rendered it virtually meaningless. But Jesus is Love, and He will triumph. The Blessed Mother is getting ready to step onto the head of the serpent again, in a big way, I am sure of it!

    • James says

      Dear Fr. Martin, SJ

I understand where you are coming from but I wanted to address some points for clarification:

      1. As Pope Francis has also stressed the importance of love, so did you. This is commendable, but what do you mean by love? Are we not to tolerate the sinner but hate the sin. I think Mr. Guzman made a perfect point. LGBT relationships are sterile, as is Satan himself. Sexually active LGBT relationships are sinful – the Catholic Church has always taught this and continues to do so – whatever the personal “beliefs” of some prelates (his Holiness included) may hold. Christ ate among the harlots and the sinners, trying to convert them, but in no way tolerating or condoning there actions. By his holiness and example He led them to the truth and converted their hearts! This translates into a changing of their daily actions and life, leaving their sin.

      2. Our Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to, “have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy, 2:4). Charity (now I mean the supernatural virtue) entered the world to be spread and to, by freeing man from his servitude to sin, allowed him to enter back into an altogether divine relationship, unseen since the banishment from the garden. Charity is often seen as something we participate in within the confines of the normal life of grace. This view is not in any way wrong, however, it is incomplete. Charity is not just a natural virtue, hiding under the modern title of “affability”. Nor is it only a supernatural virtue that is at the top of our “to-do list” of virtues. Charity is a Being; an altogether Simple Being. Charity consists of 3 Persons, all of Whom are infinite and Whose relationship is divine. We have come into contact, not only with the Mystery of the Incarnation, but with the Trinitarian Life Itself. Charity is not just an action of Christ, but His very Divine Nature. “Deus caritas est!” There is no mistaking this proclamation of Scripture. God is charity! It is by understanding this fact that our relationship with God and with other humans is transported to a divine plane.

      3. If we stand for the Christ and His Church then obviously we must do all we can to “have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” That was Christ’s mission and has been now entrusted to us. If we believe that all religions have some semblance of truth but only the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth, then we have already lost the battle for souls. Let us then “agite viriliter” and convert souls from the life of sin and help them unto everlasting life where sin and Satan have no place.

      Oremus pro invicem!

      James

      • Mark Shearer says

I appreciate the conversation. Homosexual marriage is not marriage no matter what the United States Supreme Court says. A few Supreme Court Justices cannot change a definition that has existed throughout all of humanity.

We have a duty to resist the attempted redefinition of marriage. However, we have to be sure that we handle this conversation in a truly Christian way. The other side of the issue wrongly accuses us of being hateful. This is obviously wrong. Resistance to irrational redefining of an understanding of marriage that has lasted for all of known human existence is not hatred. Even so, we have to convey our resistance to the inappropriate redefinition in a loving way. We also have to show some persistent patience when the rest of the world fails to understand us. The rest of the world will fail to see how our resistance to the attempt to redefine marriage is love as they see only permissiveness as love. The rest of the world thinks, “if you do not give me what I want, then you hate me.”

As a father of two young children, do I not show my love by correcting my children when they are wrong? If my son demands a second helping of desert, am I not correct in denying him? Do I not show my love by denying him what I know to not be good for him? Do I not act counter to my role of being a good father by giving in when I know it is not best for him? There are many who confuse love and permissiveness. Sometimes, the strongest love and bravest love is to say “no.”

However, I appreciate Fr. Martin’s point. I have an excellent friend from College who is homosexual. I do not agree with or understand his homosexuality. I do, however, know him to be an excellent person and respect and love him very much. My family and I are always happy to share our table with him. He is truly a gift from God. I hope that he keeps inviting me to his home and I hope to keep inviting him to mine. This does not mean that I agree with him. It does not mean that we see eye to eye. I hope to convince him of the truth and to reconvert him because he is worth the effort.

We have to walk the tight rope. We have to be uncompromising in our values and stand firm in them. However, we have to balance that against true Christian fellowship. We have to work to draw the misguided to us and to ask them to correct us when we are wrong. This is an enigma to some, but should be perfectly natural to us. I suppose we cannot expect the world to easily understand it – but we have to keep trying to get them to.

    • John Sposato says

Fr. Martin’s quote is not an endorsement of homosexual activity. It is very carefully crafted to avoid being one. He is absolutely right in condemning hatred of homosexuals. What many, many people get wrong is the idea that condemning homosexual behavior is the same as hating. If one believes that homosexual acts are an intrinsic wrong, it would be hatred at worse, or indifference at best, to neglect saying so. Do you hate an alcoholic brother, sister, or spouse by warning him against the evils of his drinking?

Does Fr. Martin think that homosexual activity is perfectly acceptable? I really don’t know. He may, and from the perspective of the Church that would be regrettable. However, his statement does not say that and, as I understand it, is perfectly in line with Church teaching.

So, yes, love wins. But love is often not what some people think it is.

  6. Giorgio says

My dear brothers and sisters, if you believe in God and do not fear the laws written in the Bible, please do not stop reading what I have to say (I honestly believe that very few will read my message ’till the end): it might be useful, for everybody, to clarify some crucial points, for it seems to me that, as Mr Mark Valencia said, many of you should (really!) open their Bibles. And read! Read very carefully, openminded and without being hypocrite. For those who have no time, I shall hi-light some points that might be very interesting. And remember: our Lord, which i love most dearly, loves us as equals, no matter our gender, color or religion, I guess (we all are his children, after all!).

Leviticus 21:18-21: if you are deformed or have any type of handicap you must not pray, donate or stay close to the altar because God won’t approve it.
Corinthians 11:5: my dear ladies… Is it possible that you really have the nerve to prey in Church with your heads unveiled? A shame. And to think that priests don’t allow people to wear hats!
Deuteronomy 23:1: a point in disfavour for the gentlemen, because if you have any kind of disease or happen to “miss” something of your “privates” (I suppose you know what I’m talking about) you are banned from the Church.
Matthew 5:28: I strongly suspect that ALL married men have, once in their lives, looked in a strange way to another women. Do not lie to yourselves, God knows! And he says that you have committed adultery.
Timothy 2:11: ladies, again (I’m afraid that you, as a gender, are a priori not loved very much by God); He doesn’t permit you to teach or have any kind of authority on men. At all. Sorry
Leviticus 12:5: if you give birth to a girl, don’t be happy, because you will be considered unclean for 66 days.
Mark 12:19: Oh, by the way, if your husband dies be sure he has an unmarried brother, because you are to become his wife.
Psalm 137:9: be sure you throw your children against the wall next time they disobey, you will be filled with a great sense of joy!
Leviticus 26:27-30: do not disobey God’s laws or you will have to eat your own babies and (not “or”) cut off your hand (Mark 9:43).
Leviticus 20:9: too bad society has forbidden death penalty, or good for all of you that have dared to offend father’s or mother’s.
Deuteronomy 23:2: if your are not born within a married couple you are banned forever from Heaven. You and all of your dynasty. Forever! I doubt you can be sure that your family tree has always been untouched by such sin, you could be waisting your time doing charity: it won’t work, Hell will receive you whether you want it or not. How hypocrite of the Christian Orphanages…
    Long list but no time…

How horrible is that? You all keep talking about the Bible and how men keep avoiding God’ laws. But YOU are the ones that really should be careful. God gave a message of love, but you keep thinking well to hate homosexuality. God says, in the Bible, that they are sinful and should die for this. But, guess what, even kids, which have been killed by a bear sent by God for they had laughed at man for being bald. And WOMEN! Was it gods will to burn thousand of innocent women because suspected of witchcraft? That is the same thing you are doing. You arrogantly claim that you know God’s will, although he said: love your neighbour! Will you stone your daughters if they have sex before marriage? Hypocrites! If something that goes against his laws (pedophilia, prostitution, abortion, etc.) it’s always Satan’s fault, not men’s. You all go against his laws, please be aware of that… I read that there is going to be a massive exorcism to free Mexico from the devil: too many sins in one country. Never thought that the whole situation is created by the dreadfully poor situations they live in? Let the Church help in other ways, maybe giving them economic support, or food! That might be very useful! OPEN YOUR BIBLES AND READ! If you claim that you are true Christians have the courage to consciously do EVERYTHING that is written on that book! If not, live and let your neighbour live as he want’s to. “He who is without sin can cast the first stone” one of the most extraordinary and love-full phrases of our Lord, a lesson you will probably never learn. If someone has to say anything, please do, please let me think differently about you for I have read only words of hate that dreadfully sound like death to me.

  7. Mr. Michieli says

‘I wish it need not have happened in my time,’ said Frodo.
‘So do I,’ said Gandalf, ‘and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

  8. Joal Rose Lin says

I quote from a fellow freethinker:

“Christ calls each Christian to not judge but instead love one another. Can’t we just love them and show to them how a loving God could be bigger than their “sins” and preferences?
If you don’t believe in same-sex marriage, then you don’t. Just consider those ties as not “bound in heaven”. End of discussion. You cry foul when others try to deprive you of your rights. When others are granted their rights, you not only try to curtail this move, you readily condemn them to hell. I absolutely abhor this hypocrisy.

    Live and let live.”

Love is love, Christians. We don’t care if you attribute same-sex marriage to Satan. You believe in Satan. We believe in love.

    • DN says

Unfortunately since lay Catholics aren’t apostles we don’t get to decide which ties are not bound in heaven. And certainly someone who is not a Christian doesn’t really have a right to tell Catholics what is and is not proper to Catholicism.

Unfortunately love is not love. There are many kinds of love, and it is absurd and takes a great deal of ignorance to believe otherwise. What exactly does it mean “you believe in Satan. we believe in love.” What kind of ambiguous mumbo-jumbo is that? It adds nothing to the discussion on whether marriage is some kind of right. Whether the sexual acts between two members of the same sex or opposite sex are the same or a social good. Its arguments like these that are so void of any substance and yet sound so flowery and sweet that have led to the practical shutting down of true dialogue between the opposing viewpoints on this issue, which is a great disservice to democracy, the common good, and our posterity.

  9. lizestler says

You know, really, the battle has already been won. Christ has conquered sin and death. We’re just immersed in the unfolding of that triumph, watching it play out. Satan can’t win because he has already lost. Nevertheless, we must do our part in the battle. The gates of hell will never prevail.

  10. Salomé says

Gay marriage will never threaten religion. Don’t get brain washed. Within the LGBT there are many many Cristians that believe on GOD.

  11. Riki Uzumaki says

Tolerance is always supposed to be desirable because it is taken to be synonymous with broadmindedness. Intolerance is always supposed to be undesirable, because it is taken to be synonymous with narrow-mindedness. This is not true, for tolerance and intolerance apply to two totally different things. Tolerance applies only to persons, but never to principles. Intolerance applies only to principles, but never to persons. We must be tolerant to persons because they are human; we must be intolerant about principles because they are divine. We must be tolerant to the erring, because ignorance may have led them astray; but we must be intolerant to the error, because Truth is not our making, but God’s

    • Daniel says

In the world it is called Tolerance, but in hell it is called Despair…the sin that believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and remains alive because there is nothing for which it will die.

I, for one, am going to spend less time in Facebook and more time in the Bible – the “Gracebook.” I was both disgusted and down-heartened at the number of family members and friends who used the Facebook “app” that allows one to put a “watermark” of sorts that superimposes a transparent rainbow of colors over their profile pictures. My hope and prayer is that this action by the SCOTUS will “crystallize” this fact in our thick heads: Satan wants to destroy the family, and what is more fundamental and requisite for a family to exist than marriage (ACTUAL marriage, as that Sacrament that comes from Jesus Christ). I also know (KNOW, not think) that Satan will not be stopping with “gay marriage.” Something else, and something else again, ad finitum, is planned by the Evil One. We need to keep our guards up – eternally!

this makes me feel so much better…and you know how there was a rainbow that morning and rainbows are the “symbol” of the LBGTQ+ group? well because rainbows are a sign of God’s promise, I took it as God say that even though He’s extremely angry with us, He is remembering His promise and not wiping us out with a flood.

  15. Mrs. Lama says

I would like to reply to Tony G….where you say gay is an illness and treatable and dont let yourself be fooled by satan….thank you for this confidence. God bless. Please suggest some medical centers or where this is treated so people are aware and can treat themselves asap. God bless you.

Contraception and abortion also destroys the fruitful/Trinity love that married love creates and Mother Teresa said at the National Prayer Breakfast that contraception and abortion were destroying love and they were today, the worst problems of all. In Mother Angelica s Modesty CD/DVD ONLY available from EWTN viewer services (MC 268 Modesty 06/23/2009). Mother Angelica says that (silencing) not teaching the Church’s teachings on true modesty is wrong. Because she says that that is what happened with Humane Vitae. They silenced the teachings on contraception etc… and she says when the Pope wrote Humane Vitae he said that if we allow contraception, then abortion will follow and if we allow abortion, then euthanasia will follow and Mother Angelica says that today they are killing babies born alive….all because of silence. Truly, when you speak of the fruitful love of the Trinity …you need to also speak of how silencing contraception = silent chemical abortion and abortion = direct abortion…have also killed/murdered any fruitful love/life… of the Trinity.

Thanks Sam, these are troublesome times. But our Lord said “fear not, for I have conquered the world”. Love the sinner, not the sin. Disagreements are not discrimination. I will forever trust God,and give witness to Him only. Not imperfect human sinners. Thats all, I gotta say. Sam God bless you and your family.

  18. Myles Ellis says

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” – Mother Theresa
“The person who doesn’t love does not know God, Because God is Love.” 1 John 4:8
“If a person is gay and seeks out the Lord and is willing, who am I to judge that person?” – Pope Francis
“I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other.” John 13:34
I am not a wise man. I am young arrogant and pompous. However what I do know is that God wants all of us to be happy with others, and while I believe a marriage is between one man and one women in the eyes of God… I think its important to realize as christians that not everyone shares this belief and that in this country we live in a diverse secular society, with many different people holding a variety of beliefs and that as Christians its our DUTY to have nothing but love for everyone in society as Jesus did. We are told to live by his example and to do anything less is blasphemy. To insinuate that a secular marriage between two men(or women) undermines our ecclesial marriages in the church or worse that the devil through lgbt people is trying to undermine our society is pure bigotry, ignorance and shows hate for your fellow man. If you are really Christians you should try to reevaluate, because all you are doing is letting the hate in your soul fester and if Jesus is love all you are doing is feeding the Devil.

  19. Dino says

Thank you for this encouraging message Mr.Guzman. I have noticed that some of the readers of this article have not understood your message about how sacred family is and how it is being destroyed by our society plunged in relativism and selfishness. So keep on spreading the Lord’s word, and save the ones who are searching his light. Indeed, the Pope did say “If a person is gay and seeks out the Lord and is willing, who am I to judge that person?” Because when that person seeks the Lord, he will understand his mistake. And by giving us his new commandment, the Lord meant that we have to show our love to others by guiding them to His light.
Hard times are coming ahead, as we have seen how the LGBT community has been persecuting Cardinal Cañizares in Valencia Spain for protecting the sacred essence of family…and this is just the begging…

    • Greg says

lol yeah because everyone knows the gays have never been persecuted its always been the poor Christians who have suffered at the hands of gay crusaders

  20. Mark says

Why the hate Greg? Dino’s message was loving. The message here is a call to Chastity. Chastity is a call for everyone. There is no persecution involved in calling everyone to chastity. Chastity is a means of respecting the gifts God gave us. The gifts of our bodies and the gift to have a hand in creating life. Chastity is a call to refrain from sexual intercourse unless that sexual intercourse has the potential to create life. It is a call for everyone – no matter one’s sexual preferences. What is the objection to leading a chaste life?

  21. Christ Judas says

Stop believing that everything is the property of their religious group. Marriage is not religious, is civil. Family is a concept that is not only present in the Catholic tradition, is a concept of the present society.

  23. Ssc says

I would like to add that one of the reasons people consider these times we are living in “troubled” is because people focus too much on others lives. They are quick to judge and point out other people’s sins and mistakes and don’t have the courage to even admit their own. Sin is sin, no sin is greater or less than any other. This world would be a much more peaceful place if we all agreed to have mutual respect for one another, even if our beliefs are not the same. I respect every religion and every community there is and still have strong faith and beliefs. Not because I agree with what everyone is doing, but because I respect the right for people to live their lives freely, comfortably, and safely. Articles like this, certain comments, or even looks can have a negative affect on a person, and people are quick to comment up a storm and then feel remorse when someone commits suicide or there are mass shootings targeted to certain communities. These types of things only feed into the minds of people who take things too far, people who commit sin for others sins. No person has the right to make anyone feel less than they are, let alone to take someone’s life just because of their beliefs. These communities that in which have beliefs that do not exactly match ours do not want people’s conditional sympathy after something horrible has happened, they want respect and to be treated as an equal. They want articles like this, rude comments, and weird looks to end so that those who are out of their minds can stop killing. If people as a whole stopped looking too far into the lives of others and simply worried about themselves and their own happiness, we would all live content and safe.

  24. Deviant says

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

  25. S says

A formerly promiscuous homosexual and advocate thereof, I have decided that such is iniquity and to blatantly live it out is going up against Christ’s offer of forgiveness. I have thus turned away and repented. I came back into communion with the church and emphasize the need to accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior.
